



1st Blackmore Cubs - Spring Term, Letter No.1

the bad news, the terms Subscriptions are due for the Cubs - Subs are £18 per term, per Cub and should be paid to Clare Corby
who is the Scout Group Treasurer, or they can be given to me and I will
pass them on to Clare. Please make cheques payable to: -

9th January – Meet
18:45 at Blackmore Village Hall, first meeting of the new term,
welcome new Cubs and start the Fitness Challenge, end at 19:45.
- Tuesday
16th January –
Meet 18:30 at Blackmore Village Hall, the Hall is unavailable so we
will be going to the Anglo European School in Ingatestone to do Trampolining,
plus the Minibus is being repaired so we will need three parents to help
with lifts please. We will introduce the Cubs to Trampolining as a new
sport; this is part of their “Fitness Challenge”. Cubs MUST wear their
long-sleeved uniform sweatshirts and scarf, jogging bottoms and bring an
extra pair of clean socks with them. We will return at 20:30. Thanks to
the Head Teachers & PE Staff at AES for use of the school facilities and
their kind assistance.

23rd January – Meet
18:45 at Blackmore Village Hall, Fitness Challenge meeting, end at 19:45.

30th January – Meet
18:45 at Blackmore Village Hall, Fire Safety meeting, end at 19:45.
- Sunday
04th February –
Cub and Scout Church Parade Service at 11:00, these have been quite poorly
attended last term and it would be great to see more Cubs in church on the
first Sunday each month, thank you.
- Tuesday
6th February – Meet
at Blackmore Village Hall 18:30, we will be going to Brentwood
Fire Station for the evening, by Minibus. All Cubs MUST be in full uniform.
We will return at about 20:30, dependent upon how many fires we have to
fight! Thanks to “Blue Watch”, the Brentwood and Essex Fire Service for
their kind assistance.

13th February – Half Term,
No Cubs.
- Saturday
17th February – Cub
/ Scout Jumble Sale at Blackmore Village Hall, doors open at 10:00. These
fund raising events run by the Scout Group Committee are very important in
order to fund the additional activities we plan for the Cubs. Please start
saving your jumble and it would be great to see the Cubs, their families and
friends there on the day. Tea, coffee, cakes etc are all available.

If we have any last
minute changes to the planned activities I will send these out via email, to the
email address you provided on the Cub Registration Form, if you would like me to
add further email ids to our distribution list please give them to me. We will
issue an update letter before half term; I am still waiting for a few people to
get back to me concerning other activity plans.
