Centenary Camp

We participated in the Brentwood District Centenary Camp. Both the Scouts and the Cubs pitched up for a very enjoyable weekend. The aim of the camp was to celebrate the Scouting Centenary and for the boys to socialise with the wider scouting community.

Saturday

Wide Games - Testing Scouting Knowledge

Raft Building - The scouts built a very sturdy speed machine but it looked a bit dull

Raft Decoration - The Cubs added artistic flair to out sea worthy craft

Raft Race - A valiant effort was put in by both the Cubs and the Scouts but due to some "cheating" the result didn't reflect such effort

Activities - A wide range of activities were laid on from ice climbing and circus skills to obstacle courses.

Sunday

Baden Powell re-enactment - The Scouts built a mock boat to carry Baden and two cubs, while the cubs made traditional attire out of newspaper.

Service - A centenary and St. Georges Day service was held.

Activities - Ranging from rock climbing to badge making.

Hopefully some photos will surface soon.

Its worth noting that the lads were extremely well behaved and the threat of washing up for misbehaviour seemed to be the most effective management technique for when they got a little too excited.
